You can go wrong with jgs. Thats what i got, I'm very happy I got it. I bought the unwelded version. Took me 1h, to weld it and fit. IF you dont have access to one then I suggest to get the welded version, for like 200, mine cost me 145 shipped.

I have the JGS manifold on my car and I like it so far. But then again I haven't really had a chance to abuse it......yet....

I'm in the process of building the tubular kit, blah blah...nervous about welding it myself, cause my welds suck so far. But I'm getting better. I might just cut it up and tack it and take it some place.

anyway if I ever get it done I'll post it up on my site, which is in my sig. As of now I'm still waiting to get my turbo extensions so I can design the manifold around them.

yes JGS recommends a minimum of 100 amps so 125 would be adequate. If you are good at welding go at it.At the moment all we have is an ARC (stick) welder that is plenty big enough, and an 85 amp wire feed. The smaller wire feed is much easier to use but gives ****ty welds and wouldn't do any good on the thick tubing and flanges. the arc one is a total ***** to get clean welds out of. I just need more practice.

Here's my JGS wouldnt suggest having them weld it up. I found out putting mine together and fitting everything, that there is extensive grinding and porting that needs to be done to make it FLOW.. I spent probably 12 hours fitting and porting, but it is perect now. oh and it consist of 10 pieces welded together

i bought the one from jgs that just needed the radius plate/flange welded on. i used a cutting wheel/metal file/and a 150amp wire-feed and was done in about 20-25 minutes.

The only thing i regret is that i ended up having to disconnect the top A/C hose in order to fit everything in there(welded it half an inch too far forward)...im thinking of doing some custom work sometime in the future to get my AC back, but i dont like using it anyway so oh well.

Did you guys kit just fit rite togeather? I ordered my jgs log type manifold for my sohc ka, and received it today, but nothing lines up. It needs to not only be welded, but cut in order to make it be alignied. Also there is like a 1 inch gap in the middle of mine that will need to be filled with one of the cut pieces. maby its just the sohc ka manifoldS? I hope the muffler shop dosnt charge to much to do the work :rolleyes

If you ordered the ~$150 kit, it's a DIY setup. Just a flange and a bunch of pieces, you cut and wled it together.

They also sell a $250 one that comes welded, but you have to cut the hole for the flange and then weld that on.

You just bought the cheaper kit I'd bet...

I have an 80 amp mig, do you think that would be enough? initially I was thinking no, but I've been welding a lot and I"m pretty sure if I switch it to high I should be getting penetration...

Get a piece of 1/4 scrap and have a go at it. Thats really the best way to check for the proper weld. If your unsure you can usually take it to the local welding supply shop and have them take a look. Thats what I did on my first few welds.

I jacked up my first JGS and had to grind all the welds down and run new beads. The first ones were effective, but ugly.

If you weld on both sides of the flange and radius plate you should have plenty of penetration.

I've been running my JGS manifold for over a year now at 9 psi and haven't had a problem yet.
