Hi guys,

I had a quick question about the JGS DIY manifold. Other than the obvious which is that it is not completed up arrival, is there any reason why it would function any crappier than say the Rev Hard or FMAX manifolds? I will be running between 7 and 12 PSI, and since I live in a hick town full of welders, finishing the manifold would be easy. At that level of pressure would I notice any real difference in performance over the Revhard? I ask because this one isn't very talked about, and I'm sure those who have turboed already must have taken a different route for some reason...

Thanks

Add-In: Also wanted to say that the price I spend on the manifold is dictating the quality of my intercooler. If I get a revhard , I will probably get some used Starion or Saab 9000 Intercooler. If I get the JGS I will get a SPEARCO or JGS using spearco core.

U got a website or a picture? I think I bought something similar and just had it welded a couple of weeks ago. I'd show you a pic of mine but I'm in the process of moving and can't get to it. I also have a starion I/C that I got for next to nothing. Hopefully, I'll finish the entire setup this summer. I'll get back to you after I get moved and unpack my puter'(probably the first thing).

the jgs manifold looks to be very good. It's finished with the expception of the exhaust inlet. it's better that way because you get to configure exactly where you're turbo will sit so you don't have any clearance issues.

I recently purchased the head flange from jgs and I bought a t3 flange with collector. I'm going to be making my own manifold. If you feel up to it, you should look into making your own. It comes off to be alot cheaper and is easier than you think. I'd say my KA24E manifold will end up costing $150 when complete, not a long style, tubular. I'm going to ceramic coat it also, which will probably end up costing $200 for a finished product.

Last year there was a guy on ebay that sold these log kits for $149. I'm kicking myself in the arse right now because I didn't pick up at least one. His kit was different though you had to weld the whole log up, which still isn't hard.

cdigity, it looks very nice :). Do you think you'll have any problems destroying o2 sensors quick due to the amount of heat it'll be in where you mounted it?

Yeah, I got mine off E-Bay from that same guy. I think his site is gone now also. Glad I got mine when I did! The flanges were really the only thing you were paying for. The piping he sent was just some Weldbend pieces that you can get from any good plumbing supply store. I'm actually making a custom turbo outlet pipe with a piece I picked up last week. I'll get some pics just a soon as I finish unpacking.

I think that would be an EGT sensor that you see.

EGT sensor probes tend to be much smaller. That one looks like an O2 sensor to me.

THANKYOU..I've been looking for JGS for a long time now. I think I may try their custom manifold for the KA24E. THANKS AGAIN.

By the way..I was going to ask them but I will ask you too. I had a custom manifld made for my KA24E, but it has a 1/4" flange. Do you think it will crack on me?? If so, daily driven(about 10,000miles per year) do you think it will??

THANKS AGAIN

Yup. That dude is gone. But luckily i picked one up before he left. And I like it. It does appear to be about the same as the unfinished jgs but cheaper.
