I just installed JGS 340 SBV bov to replace my leaky/sticky Turboxs Type H34. At idle there is air that comes out of the bov. When I pull the vacum line I can see the valve shut. and it idle fine at 19-20vac. When the vac line is plugged in I get about 16-18vac. Also at partial throttle I can hear the air coming out of the bov has I drive. Which of course also makes the car drive and sound funny. When I start to accelerate I can no longer here the air and it drive fine. Under boost it feels great and it boost about 300rpm sooner then it did with the turboxs bov. Also when just coasting the gauge reads about 20-21vac and I can not hear any air coming out of the bov. Also coming to a stop will either kill the engine or it will go to about 500rpm for about 15sec and then work its way up to 1K. I have tried two vacum sources(under throttle body and FPR line) and both do the same. Also the BOV is tightend all the way down. Hopefully I explained it enough.

Thanks,

those types of valves usually has 2 different types of springs since they can be used as a bypass or a bov. you probrably got the softer bypass valve spring. why not call them and ask for a stiffer bov spring?

There wastegates have that, but I do not think there BOV have that. JGS stated this will work open or rec.

Found out this is a Bypass valve so it has to be rec. He is making an adapter so it will work open, but it is not out yet. Was my mistake for not reading on the website where it does say bypass valve. Just to let people now for now these have to be rec. back into the system.

ah ha!! so i was right. anyways yeah those looks like a piston type that turbo XS uses. the type H34 is a bypass valve and has a very small spring compared to the RFL which is basically the same thing but with a horn. so if they don't offer a stiffer blow of valve spring, then just recirculate it.

I am getting rec. today. Also the JGS is a pull type valve like the HKS.

Well that fixed all my issues...Car will still die if I press the clutch in @ 2Krpm or above. Once I get my wideband in I can see if the idle is a little rich or not. Car drives like it did stock (when not in boost of course)

awesome. glad its running better now.

now the stall issue is common even on NA KA's. some people can fix it by cleaning IACV, but some try that and still doesnt fix it.

whats your vacuum like at idle now?+

Idle vacuum is 20. With Scott's (enthalpy) tune he does not use the IACV valve. With His tune the idle is at 1K and really can not be changed. When trying to diag. this issue with the other crappy BOV, I think we have the idle messed up (A/F ratio). So after I get my wideband installed I can see how it idles and then have scott send me another tune. Man I wish I would of done this along time ago.
