Hey guys, new here. Tried searching and couldnt find anything. (actually was disabled for me) so did the google goggle thingy mabobby and searched and couldnt find much info, just on other brands, so figure Id ask here.

Im doing a kswap on a little honda hatch back and mix matching trans and all so it got me thinking on my rogue...
Rogue is a 2012 without tow, FWD. Got it to save gas etc versus driving my big vehicle. Wouldnt move at all, bought it as a project, replaced little motor in trans above valve body and all was well for 2-3 days, now trans slips REALLY bad. (Fresh fluid, all level, etc). Long story short I have the transmission out. Was going to rebuild but figured get a used one and slap it in.
Then i was like oh no, the prices of these things are kinda expensive, Even rebuilding them the parts are. When I resarch the trans to rebuild it im searching JF011E/RE0F10A, And fits lots of models apparently, the CVT system and the disc. So my question is...

Some of the "other makes and models" that use the JF011E/RE0F10A CVT transmission... are ALOT cheaper. And look exactly the same. Is there something stopping me from buying one of those and using that versus this expesnive used "Nissan Rogue" trans?

Example, the 2012 NV200, way cheaper even shipped. Whats stopping me from taking my outer two cases(the mounts are different to mount trans to the actual car) and my torque converter, and using those on the NV200 trans? Everything else is basically the same it seems like.

Ehhhh man RIGHT before I was gonna buy one I noticed one difference, looking at the rogue transmission there mounts where the "motor mount goes" is actually on the middle case and not on the outer it seems. Fudge.

I feel like If I can find a model that the middle transcase has those mounts for the motor mount I think itll work, and willing to take the risk.

To my knowledge the US NV200's all used the HR16 or MR20 engines and were all mated to the Versa/Sentra RE0F11A. Those are a completely different animal from the RE0F10A used with the QR25 in the Altima and Rogue. So if the truck is USDM then I think you may be getting your trannies mixed up. What engine does it have?

Ya I dunno on the USA or JDM tof the nv200 ruck etc. I was just on ebay looking around, thers alot of makes and models that use the "rebuild kit" of what I was looking for and ALOT of the parts look exactly the same, why I was looking around, maybe thats why nissan doesnt sell "parts" for it, and just sells whole units Ive been reading online, was curious if I could get away with some part swapping to make a good trans vs paying 2500$ for a USED transmission that's gonna fail on me in 20,000 miles anyway. OR does anyone know of a place that sells remanufactured Jatcos? WOULD REALLY like to have this up and running, Ive never had AC on a vehicle before and this car does, and I enjoyed the hell out of it for the 2 days I was driving it.

Whether it's a 10A or 11A, you can get a factory reman from NissanPartsDeal.com for under $2500, so paying that much for a used unit is silly. Or you can find something at Pick-N-Pull that fits in the hole and grab the TCM with it, that will pretty much make it plug-and-play. There are no real differences in the TCM wiring across models using those trannies, a transmission and TCM from any 10A car should be able to use the engine harness from any other 10A car, and the same for an 11A.
