Does anyone out there have any info on the Jetchip V-Force for our cars?

I am intrested in exactally the install works. What does it tap in to in the ECU. I've heard that it just taps a few wires, but no one has been able to tell me which.

Of course jet chip doesn't have any install instructions posted on their page. All it says is "Coming Soon"

And if anyone out their has any FIRST HAND experence with these I would like to know your impressions.

from doing Jet CHips in LS1 Camaros, most of what they tap into is the rev limiter, speed sensor, governor, timing advance sensor, and cam position sensor.

Dinan? I thought they made stuff for BMWs. I've never heard of Dinan for Nissans, interesting to see how well they work. What kind of install is the Jet Chip, ive seen the install for camaros and its a chip that just snaps in, right? But is it the same for 240s? I've been looking for a good chip to install.

Dinan actually used to make chips for quite a few cars. I'm not sure if they still do, but they did have one for the SOHC 240.

The Dinan is not supposed to be that great of a chip. The jetforce chip is not a snap in. It actually has to be tapped into the wires on the 240 from what I read.

Aries, do you mean the extermal wires running from the engine to the ecu or do you actually have to dismantle the ecu and tap into the internals?

No, they would be the externalk wires.

;) I don't think anyone wants you dismantling your ECU.

From what I have read about the V'force it indicates that you do have to tap into some wires, basic simple piggyback system.

That way they get away with making 1 system that matches many makes and models at once. Really not the best way to do things, but should work to a point...in theory. (Spiralmax and the electric supercharger should work in theory too.

Most of these systems just perform simple "analog math" from some of the sensors (in pure electronic geekspeak.) It makes the ecu think the throttle is down a little more, makes it think a little more air is flowing through the MAF, etc. I am intrested in what the V-force is tapping into...and then by further research find out if I can duplicate is with $20 at radio shack. I've heard mixed stories about how well the v-force auctually works too. (Jetchip has a nice 8hp gain dynograph of a stock 96 240SX on their website.)

So anyone really know what it hooks up too and what it modifies...on a nuts and bolts level.

Thanks guys.

The Dinan chip was one of the first programed chips for the Q and 300Z. Suppose to have the same code as the JWT one.. But, there's a few ,, Active, TCS, and of course the year of your car.. So,, your chip may be of some value. ( I personally would like to have the code from it since I have the code for the JWT and G Force) >...........:thumbup

I'm not sure about that...

Piggybacking two types of performance computers would probablly cause the following:-knock induced by excessive ignition advance. Turning up the timing is a popular means of getting more power with chips, and two units together would push it past the safe point, other wise JWT would have just put the ignition at that timing to begin with.-It would probablly run too rich, for similar reasons as above.

Trust Jim...he knows what he's doing.

I have the Jet V-Force, and let me start by saying, I wouldn't spend the money, but if you want to, I will sell you mine for a little over half the price. It caused my mileage to go down, and I couldn't tell a performance difference when on vs. off. It isn't too bad to install. You have to tap into the TPS and the MAFS, and I have the instructions for it as well. I have not cut any of the wires that came on it, and I may still have the original box. If it were me, however, I would save my money for the S-AFC, it gives a bigger gain, it is tunable (if that is what you want), and I hear you can modify your MAFS if you like. The downside is that it is more difficult to install. This unit is much easier to install, and I am selling it cheap, if you are interested, email me. Nicholas Brummel[email protected]

Dont use the chip if using jwt. You can use the jwt along with the afc like I do. Jwt runs a little rich but the afc corrects it alot and when I had it put on the dino a couple of yrs ago it helped tremendously with tuning. Jim and ben with jwt are nice guys but they think they know everything. They told me I couldnt use the stock ka computer on the sr and that it wouldnt even run. I drove back from cali with the stock computer and with the afc just fine until I recieved my jwt com. Thats when i had problems for the longest time until i went back out there again on the stock ka computer because theres was causing me problems. They told me time and time again there was no way I was driving with the ka computer and that there was nothing wrong with there computer. They believed me when I rolled up there to there little shop in el cajon with the ka computer in the car. Especially when I had a95 ecu in my 96 se. I got so pissed off at them. I made an appointment to drive from dallas to cali as a last resort cause no one could figure things out in dallas without charging an arm and a leg. they fixed my s*** for free and I was on my way after the gas $ money of course. It was a nice road trip though.
