I put an eBay intake on my old accord when I drove that a few years ago... all I can say is you get what you pay for. There were MINOR performance gains, and that's only because I opted to get a K&N filter on the end of it, rather than the piece of crap foam filter it came with. The only thing that I can say was good about it was the "bling" factor - it was the only piece of chrome on the entire car... under the hood. Heh. There are a few drawbacks though... for instance, the eBay intakes are generally very flimsy, thin aluminum which can crack, dent, and warp easily, especially in a heated environment. Also, they have a tendency to shoot warmer air into the engine than the stock intake, unless you rig up a cold-air extension. Finally, if you're in a Smog-evil state like California, good luck passing emissions. The smog tech will take one look at that and fail you.
Anyways, if you're looking for the look and feel of an intake, but not any major performance, then you "could" go with an eBay intake, just know that you're going to have to go over the thing with a fine-tooth comb every once in a while to make sure it's still working. If you want something that's going to last you a long time, with good performance, then save up and get an AEM or Injen - you'll be glad you did. The major companies put a lot of time and research into their parts, and it definitely shows.
Ok... /rant off
