Jerky shifts on occasion. Normal?

95 G20 Auto

When shifting, especially in comfort or normal mode at higher revs, it feels very jerky and abrupt. Otherwise, in power mode, it shifts sooner and feels more comfortable. Seems to do this regardless of whether its warmed up or cold.

Otherwise, there's no other problems. It doesnt slip or do anything like that and engages in Drive and Reverse normally.

Is the transmission nearing death or is the G20 auto usually like this?

I would try a fluid flush and add some fresh gear oil. Those automatic SR trannys aren't very reliable.
