As of now I am missing my 5 speed!
Yes, if you manually shift the EX, big difference in power, esp off the line, I noticed. Sometimes in regular D, it can feel sluggish for a 297 horsepower V6 off the line. Car and Driver or Road and Track.. actually got faster 0-60 and 1/4 mile times, manually shifting the EX, which is rare, (they even made comments about it) ususally leaving it in D or DS is faster on nearly all manumatic/automatic cars.minimo3 wrote:I traded in a 2001 BMW 325 with a 5-spd auto for the 2011 EX35. I don't find the transmission jerky but boy does it have puny grunt off the line. If I move out from a stop at normal speeds, the revs get up to 3000rpm but the car trundles off at a leisurely pace. From a butt dyno perspective the 184hp 2.5L BMW felt twice as powerful. Once it gets going at highway speeds its fine though. I realize there's a 500lb difference in weight but the power to weight ratio is better on the EX. Maybe I just need to put it in sport mode and manually shift?
