Anyone having problems with when you pull off in your car and when it shifts out its a real hard jerk? Could it be transmission strainer or other issue.

Whens the last time you changed your fluid, etc.?

Transmission fluid? I haven't. Also what about reprogramming? So I need to get the transmission fluid flushed.

I don't know about flushed, but depending on your mileage probably wouldn't hurt to do a drain and fill (less intrusive than a flush which could upset stuff). I highly doubt this is a programming issue otherwise it would have done it since day 1. When did it start? How many miles on your car?

Oh wow! That's impressive mileage! But yeah, I don't think this is a programming issue...this is likely more in the fluid or physical transmission itself at that mileage. I do recall that I think our trannys are considered 'sealed' units but don't quote me on that.

Any codes when checked with a scanner? Dont' just rely on the light on the dash.

Nothing but a catalytic converter code. I was thinking taking it to transmission shop to see if the strainer is stopped up and to check the fluid level.

Might wanna drop the trans pan and check the connections on the inside. There's a bunch of, I believe copper connections that may need reattached. Cousin had a similar issue with his M35. Soder gun and ran fine after. Seems to be a common issue with the V6 M. Was a pretty simple fix.

same problem with my M37x. correlated to icy road conditions (Canada). Dealership said it was due to non-factory rims. I run a -1 (17" winter tire and rim); dealer ran a diagnostic and reset something, seemed to address it. never heard a specific explanation beyond that.

@Ilya, what do you mean when you say the transmission is sealed?

My understanding is M's (again, you may need to double check this) have 'sealed transmissions' which is why we don't have dip sticks for the transmissions. Basically, it is not intended to be a regular service item like on cars of yesterday.

2012 m37x 81k miles. I get a bucking issue when car is warm but outside Temps are low...below 20 degrees usually.

Also get rough idle. Its progressed to power loss.

I pulled codes P0060 and P0101. No CEL. Its at the dealer.

They say it needs throttle body cleaning and new air filters. They don't recommend MAF cleaning.

I looked at air filters they weren't that bad.

Not sure how a slightly dirty filter can produce P0101 code MAF sensor out of range.

P0060 O2 sensor after cat concerns me. I guess I don't have the whole story from dealer yet.

They wanted $825 to replace leaking valve cover gaskets. Uhhh...no...

I don't think it is the trans or transfer case that causes bucking.

Update...2 new oem air filters and a throttle body clean...car runs Fantastic!

I had transmission fluid change recently and it shifted better...but after this TB clean it shifts even smoother. I don't think it is my imagination!

I'm gonna get new rotors and pads installed Monday. My rear Brakemotive pads are done. I was never really happy with brakemotive so I will go with Akebono with traditional rotors. I didn't care for the noise that drilled slotted rotors produce...plus I didn't realize you can't turn slotted rotors. Fir the brakemotive price, I can't complain, however I figure you get what you pay for.

Then I'll have an almost new car again.
