I found a couple of better pics on my computer of Jeff's strut brace fitted to my car.I still recommend this to anyone who hasn't got one yet.Definite improvement in handling.

Note that this bar is fitted to an active.Jeff makes the ends to suit standard and active Q's

Its the only thing I need unfortunately Jeff Williams isn't making any at this moment. I regret not buying it last time I saw it on ebay... he had great pricing too.

I'm thinking about making my own custom one.

Why is your engine bay so clean????

Holy old post Batman!

My engine bay is clean because I spent an hour or so going over everything.

The headlights are standard JDM as far as I know.

PS: The strut brace is still going well

Beautiful Ozzie! I love your horns. Btw what did you do for the ACTIVE rubber and metal parts on the shock towers? I can't see it clearly.

The headlights came with the car, so I guess they were free. My car was brought to Australia from Japan.

Best guess to source some headlights would be from a JDM parts supplier in the states, or yahoo.co.jp auction site etc.

Lino, the brackets fitted to the brace go around the rubber boots of the active strut tower tops. They also aren't complete circles..... they have a notch cut out, so you don't have to remove the hydraulic lines to the towers.

Didnt think you were posting anymore Andy, havent seen you in ages!!

I have to vouch for Jeff's brace too, I got one sent from America to Australia, 100% hassle free, and the brace fit perfectly.

It is an absolutely perfect product and Jeff deserves all the sales he gets from the hard work he puts into these.

Haven't seen you in a while. I was afraid you and your awesome JDM Q had left us.

It's like they were too short. I'll have to take pics and show you what I mean.

You're welcome. Jeff usually makes them in batches. It has been a while so get in touch with him and see if he is preparing a new batch.

I remember the metal parts you are referring to now Lino......

I ditched them, as the brace acts as a metal clamping ring for the boots at the strut tower tops.

Hacksawed the rings, twisted them to widen the gap, then threaded them off of the hydraulic lines.

(I can hear the shrieks of horror from here, but the rings became redundant once I had the brace)

When my mechanic took mine off, he didn't have to go through what you described. He just simply removed them:
