not your usual bmc swap post.
the car - RHD converted s13. non ABSthe upgrade - Z32 brakes - front and rear with master cylinderthe problem - RHD lines enter the master cylinder on the left side, USDM lines enter on the right (as you are looking from the driver's seat)
possible solutions:1. run short braided stainless steel lines under the master cylinder from the brake lines to the ports. Already have the master cylinder. Problem: vibration, added length to brake lines. overall weary of doing this
2. purchase JDM Z32 bmc to use instead. Recently purchased. Problem: unlike the USDM z32 brake master cylinder which has 3 spots, 3 ports and a plug in the middle port, the JDM bmc has 3 spots, and only two ports on the front most spots. The back spot where there could be a port, i can see the outline of the hole, but it is filled w/ a cross hatched pattern on the surface. Will i be able to drill this port out, tap it and insert the correct fitting (the one removed from the extra mastercylinder that would normally be placed in the middle port)? Will there be any problems w/ fluid pressures if it was designed to use the front two ports rather then the front and the back ports - meaning will the slight difference in location along the piston stroke create an unwanted difference in pressures among the lines?
3. find another JDM z32 BMC off a car not equiped w/ ABS problem: finding someone w/ a non abs front clip in the US that knows what they have and are willing to sell at a reasonable price
4. say to hell w/ the Z32 bmc and run the stock JDM one that works just fine w/ stock brakes? problem: weak pedal and alot of needed input.
i know pictures would help, but the battery on the camera is dead. If needed however, for clarification purposes
Thanks for reading and thanks in advance for any assistance.
