So my new engine arrived at my home in Australia.

However the Cam Angle Sensor is broken:

Is this the same part as the USDM VH45? Are they compatible?

Anyone willing to help me out finding a new one?

Cheers.

If you take a closer picture, I can at least let you know if it's identical to my USDM one

Off the top of my head it looks different than the 45. What year is your VH and from what car? There has to be someone here that can x-reference and tell you what other years and engines has the same CAS.

Yeah, that's definitely NOT the early 90-93 VH45DE sensor. It looks similar though. I have a spare early VH45 here now because I switched to a later style '94 motor.

There is a stamping on mine along the outer metal case. It's very faint though. The marking says 23731 60U13. The last few numbers are stamped with a different "font", probably because they are stamped later with a different machine due to the fact that they often have minor variations in parts to increase reliability, decrease costs, change materials so they are more resistant, etc... This is the mitsubishi version of the part, and I think the other is hitachi.

My specific number corresponds to a 1991 Infiniti Q45. Check your housing very carefully and try to find a part number stamping, however faint. Whatever it is, it will almost certainly begin with 23731 since that seems to be Nissan's part number prefix for camshaft sensor.

This is an imported engine from a JDM Y32 Chassis. Year is 91-96.

Once again...looking very closely at the CAS reveals no part number. There is a second bracket attached to the engine still, when I get back to my w/s I will check.

I am in Australia, so apart from the very few (few hundred perhaps) infiniti q45's that were sold here in the early 90's all engines are imported, hence my difficulty in obtaining a sensor.

Further more, looking at the 1996 Q45 FSM (EC-193). The connector is different (mine has two). Also the optical disc has 360/8 pickups on the that part whereas mine has 360/4.
