JDM VG30E vs. VG30E

I have a JDM VG30E installed in my 92 Maxima (original had a camshaft failure-very strange) Are there any differences internally between the two engines e.g. horsepower, compression etc.

None that I know of. I know the JDM VG30ET in the Gloria, I think it was, had "euro" cams good for around 10 hp with boost, less n.a. I'd say its most likely identical though.

Hey did your camshaft get stuck?

I am having a similar problem where my crank won't crank over,

It seems like the camshaft broke, or is getting stuck on something.

let me know. Weird.

I actually know a guy who's cam broke in his VG30ET. Never seen anything like it, it was broke basically right where it entered the head.

If one of yours is broke is highly likely that a piston is hitting a valve which is causing that clunk that keeps the engine from turning over.

Imma sell my 300zx and buy another S13 which I should have done in the first place.

I know how you feel. I'm really not much a fan of the VG30DE(TT) to be honest. I really like the VG30E(T) as I believe its a little more reliable plus can make tons of power as well. I'm actually swapping a VH45 into mine though, trying something new.

Like I was saying in the other thread, be sure to come back and post some pics and such of the new 240. I've actually wanted to mess with an S13 myself but have too many other projects at the moment.
