The only way I could think of getting your top to work like the JDM vert is to get a JDM vert

Find a JDM Vert top and buy it.

Problem would be finding one since there weren't that many in JP.

you could always just get someone to cut off the rear end then weld it to yours

you would need everything, hinges, motors, backseats, rear panels. it would cost quite a bit to convert it properly.

but if you did it would be ballin

Why do you have to be so jdm tyte?

Save up your monies and get a nice usdm convertible. Like the g37 convertible!

Even the older mustang convertibles are nicer. And nothing beats the sound of a nice V8, especially the ford 5.4

The biggest issue was mentioned. There were only a few hundred JDM Verts produced. Its just not feasible unless you just buy a JDM Vert and get in the country somehow.

Mustang get you WAY more bang for the buck. Especially with the retarded "drift tax" almost any 240 has nowadays.

And to anyone that caught my post above, I meant 4.6 I have no idea why I said 5.4

mustang's are nice but a 4.6 blows donkey's if your gonna have a v8 stang go 5.0 or go home in my opinion but that isn't the subject at hand... I want the jdm top for my usdm vert! They look sick as shrit and I've already got a vert 240 why would I get rid of it for a ssssss hitstain? Every boy can have their toy but something like swapping the top hasn't been done to my knowledge... And If ya haven't noticed its all about bein different! Why be like all the other red necks and drive the same straight line those thing's are truely built for? So lets not turn this subject into another 240 vs ssss hitstain debate and maybe someone can truely help me out here....

I like mustang's don't get me wrong but it comes down to personal preference... and I prefer my s13 vert over any car!

I think it should be 5.8 or go home with the Mustang.

But back on topic, would anything from the BMW convertibles remotely work? My friends 325 convertible opens the same way as the jdm vert.

Chris,The Japanese S13 Silvia vert was not a production car as far as I remember. I have seen 2 or 3 of them EVER. The ones I saw were used as rental cars. I have friends in Japan and I can try to find something, but I think there were VERY FEW made. I have never bothered to research it, and maybe should have before replying to your post.

Give me a call sometime. I need to rent part of yor garage so my AE86 doesn't sit outside. 4 car garage and cannot get all of my junk in there...

IIRC, 602 or 603 s13 verts were officially made in Japan. I believe Autech did the conversion over there just like ASC did the conversion for USDM s13 verts. I've heard 1 or 2 were special ordered and equipped SR20DET with manual transmission and all others were SR20DE w/auto transmission.

I'm sure conversion can be done, but it'll be a lot of work.
