since i dont spend a lot of time in 240 gen anymore, maybe one of you regs can answer me....what wiring must be done to the JDM 180sx turn signals? i didnt think they were plug and play, but i could be wrong.

also, the ebay intakes? worth it? i dont really want to drop a ton of cash on an Injen or AEM intake if i can get the same thing with an $80 ebay Short ram or just an adaptor plate with a cone filter. if i go with this, it leaves me more money to do stuff to the car that WILL make a difference and will require good money spent on quality parts.

Well, for JDM turn signals, I assume you are referring to the half-amber, half-clear lights, right?

If so, I actually just bought a set from ebay without realizing that they contained no bulbs, or wiring of any kind. So, I did what any self-respecting engineer would do and figured out how to wire them in. Mind you, wiring is not my favorite passtime. Anyway, since our turn signals only have one bulb that acts as both a parking light and a turn signal and the JDM lights are setup for two bulbs, there are some components you need to buy. I went to the local Kragen and picked up two small sockets that fit the lights and then the two bulbs (194's) that fit the new sockets. I'm not sure what the part number is on the sockets, but if you had the JDM turn signal housing, it's pretty obvious which one would work. As for the wiring, I busted out my trusty FSM and located the wires to splice for proper operation. I used quick-splices and spliced the ground from the new socket to ground in the harness (black) and for power, I spliced into the wires that provide parking light function not turn signal function (red/green and red/blue) on each side. Then I popped the bulbs into the new light housing and voila, both lights light up, but only the amber bulb blinks.

Man, that seems long-winded, but it's kinda hard to put in words. Can't help you with the ebay intakes, I have an AEM and I like it.

Hope that helps.

If it has the wiring harness, it's plug andplay. I should know, I have them on my car.

thanks for the info. i've found a few, and all seem to have the wiring AND bulbs, so we'll see. i was thinking if the wiring was present, then its just plug and play because the plugs look the same.
