Does anyone knowanything about RB20det transmission rebuild kits such as, does nissan Japan still make them? Who would I have to contact to get one (friend will deal with shipping etc.)? Parts #, cost?

I've read all the threads about rebuilding the transmission with the KA's, buying another RB20 transmission from an importer (most likely will be hit or miss), and some other ideas/options, but I was just trying to figure out the viability of just buying a JDM rebuild kit thru a frind in Japan, and having them ship it to me, and if rebuild kits even exists anymore for these transmissions.

If anyone has any info, please let me know

From what I understand the KA internals can go into the RB20 bellhousing no problem; however, it causes two side effects that are often undesireable. First, it sets the actual shifter back inside the S14 (and I think it is great where it is right now), and second, unless you get a custom cut driveshaft then it puts unwanted pressure on both the transmission as well as the rear end.

i think your a little loss on that second thought.

and the shifter movement is tiny. i think you wont notice it.

I just put in a ka transmission in my s-13. I had to have the driveshaft shortened 2 1/2" and make the hole in the floor board bigger(it wont let it go into 4th or reverse).Plus I think there are 2 bolt holes that dont line up in the bell houseing.

Not sure if this will help ya, but I'm pretty sure Z32 internals are interchangeable with the RB25 trans...
