Quick background: I own a 2000 Q45. I am swapping to a 1998 trunk lid. I bought a set of JDM tail lights from an unknown year 1997-2001 Q45.
Problem: I started the swap by changing out my stock outer tail lights for the JDM outer tail lights. The tails plugged into the OEM harness. All the lights turn on. But...
When I hit my brake pedal, the brake lights don't work. With the headlights on, the lower bulbs light up, but when I hit the pedal, they don't get brighter.
I checked the brake light fuse under the hood, and it is fine. I haven't had a chance to check the relay. It looks like the brake filament in the bulbs themselves might be bad. I will throw in new bulbs tomorrow morning.
Any other ideas of what the culprit could be? Thanks!
