i have a sohc...

and got a free jdm cluster... i wanted to put in the jdm speedometer mechanism into the stock cluster... and i was wondering if i had the jdm speedometer will my odometer reading start to read in kilometers?... if it does... can i use the usdm odometer to fix it and make it into miles instead of kilometers ? hope it makes sense...

oh... so do you most of your guys that do swaps have your odometer in kilometers ?...

nismod, did you do the tach too, or just the speedo? is the speedo working correctly when you drive now?

hey itsRaine...

today i drove to school where it would normally take 14-15 miles to and from... my tripmeter said i drove ~23... so that means its in kilometers... im gonna try one more thing though... on the back of the odometer is a little mechanism... im gonna take that out and put in the usdm one... i put in the jdm odometer bc mine is broken... the gears get stuck and stuff... so ill try that when i can... ill update when i get it done... hopefully by next week...

ps... its fun driving in kilometers... looks a lot better than the big mph numbers... and then kph in smaller... the gauge looks more spacious as well

heres a pic of the gauges at night... notice the odometer shows this ugly yellowish color... doesnt look that bright white in person though... too bad... in person it looks all the same tone... i changed 3 gauges, speedometer, temp, and fuel... just bc they looked a lot newer than my old one... i still have the stock tach on there... and i finally got lights for the two sides... it lights up the lower right and left side... with the fuel/windshield fluid/cruise/engine and the other side is finally visible at night for me... uhh... i dont know how to post multiple pics... maybe attachment is too big... i have a few more pics... and the pic has to be 300x300... but then why do i see some pics that are like HUGE... and take up the whole screen ?... someone help ?... anyway.. ill post again when i resize the pics

i just copy/pasted what i had said... but no pics... any help.. if its only 300x300... you wont see anything !

So you ripped apart your JDM and US cluster and didn't notice any differences eh? how sad.

The speed sensor has nothing to do with wether the car is calibrated for kmh or mph.Slap in the jdm speedo you are now in kmh. US speedo, you are now in mph.The gears on the odometer and trip meter are different sizes, JDM being smaller. 1 km = 0.62 miles.

I have a JDM cluster in my car, but I purposefully put in the US odometer and trip meter so I know the actual mileage on the chassis and the gas mileage is easy to calculate. Otherwise you are stuck converting KM's into miles and so forth = waste of time to be JDM OMFG!!!~

oh yeah... when i looked at them... i spun them at the same time... it seemed to move the same... i guess that .62 is not as noticable... and when looking at the gears... jdm was black while my usdm was navy... thats all i remember... ill post a pic when i take apart my cluster again
