Zero did your 240 have power mirrors originally? I'm not 100% sure but the US power mirror plug has 2 wires and the JDM plug has 3 (at least for s13's folding mirrors).

go here: http://www.silviaaustralia.com/techinfo.asp

and download the s14 manual (JDM manual in english for australians). Even though its the s14 manual those also came with power folding mirrors so the wiring diagram should be same or similar to what you are needing.

Do you have the JDM switch for the mirrors?

Colour match the wires to the ones on the switch. Splice them together. To check if the mirrors are working. (you have to remove the centre console and plug the switch into where the USDM switch was ). remove the door panels. and mirror bolt on the JDM unit. Feed the wires though the lower gramit thats going to the door (We tied the wires to a coat hinger and feed it though). Now connect, soder and electical tape your wires together and run it to the switch the same exact way you found the OEM wiring. Test it again and put your door panels and centre console back in. Hope this was helpful.

We tried color matching today and the mirrors wouldn't move (we we're trying to just get the damn things to adjust...not even tryin to fold them yet.) What do you think could be wrong?

Smurf the US power mirror switch has no wire to operate the folding motion in the JDM mirrors. Color matching JDM wires to a US harness will only make the power adjustment functions work. This is what I interpretted from your post?

From what i remember him telling me he spliced everything together with the US harness except for 4 wires that i can't remember where he said they go. Sorry to say.

the four wires go to a relay (and they come from the mirrors) -- we have all the parts needed, just a PITA to hook them up because we don't know if the thing works anymore (he got it to work once...)

Swift, I think you should take over K Car's job. Though no one can ever truly replace him.

I think I'm doing a relatively sastisfactory job so far. However, I will not waste countless hours of my time researching just to prove someone wrong like K-car did.

Back to the mirror topic. The reason my folding mirrors work is because they are factory installed on my car :)

Swift just a question. I was wondering what you do with your 180SX. If it just sit there or are you doing anything with it?

They're not for my car--they're for my friends 240. I'm getting swifts silvia mirrors (aparently they're just a bit easier to install cuz they were made for our car...yeah...).
