okay, let me start off by saying i cant stand body kits. i wanted to give my coupe a clean look with those big wheels but i needed to balance the body of the car but not wanting to install side skirts or a new front bumper. so i decided to purchase the xenon front lip and add splash guards to the sides instead. i looked all over online for this combination so i can get a good idea of how it would look but no luck. so im posting pictures for those who would like to see how it looks. luckily i found the JDM oem silvia splash guards on ebay and a xenon lip also on ebay. installed them today... and i totally love the look. :)

the pictures that were here before *which i deleted* taken by my cheap 6.o mega pixel camera. here's some pics taken from a nikon d300 and is more accurate of how the car looks in real life. pictures are unedited.

Looks good currently but the black is too much of a contrast for the red.

You should look into OEM coupe side skirts and replica rear valences. It's technically not a body kit and is very subtle. Color matched, they would look very good on your car.

What's the difference between a JDM splash guard and a US/Canadian one?

I have been wanting this setup forever. But I think color matching them would make it look more subtle and smooth.

the 180 sideskirts would work, but hatch rear vlaences won't fit on a coupe without modification and even then you dont see it done much

+1 for having a really clean ride

-100 for putting a Nismo sticker on a rota wheel

so you're at -99 right now... esh lol

however, you might be able to recover some cool points by getting coilovers...

Oh man, you beat me right to it... OP, plz stop faking the funk and take the Nismo sticker off your Rota's.

I hate bodykits, too... but how do you feel about OEM aero? Chuki sideskirts > mud flaps.

I beleive the rust effect is the same as an oem wing. Mudflaps trap moisture between the body of the car and themselves, which causes rust. :gotme

is there away to put mudflaps on and avoid that? like putting something between the back of the mudflap and the car?

Win, I've always wanted to put splash guards on with my stock body.

JDM ones are either color matched or unpainted. USDM ones are all unpainted IIRC. I know it cuz I bought the very last set of brand new splash guards in black from Japan before.

just like albert said, they trap water and stuff in there. i shoudl take pics of my brothers car. you can see clearly where the mudflaps were because theres a distinct line separating good paint from a mud flap shaped mess of rust.

i supposed you could prep the surface and coat it with rust bullet or something like it, but then you'd be screwed if you ditched the flaps

Fitment=fail.

What coilovers do you have (betting on a spring/strut combo)?

Nice car man! Some fender rolling would make it even better and it looks like you have a bit of positive camber in the front, but it looks awesome nonetheless. Mudflaps FTW! My vert came with the US mudflaps on it, and they are unpainted.

i usually hate mudflaps and now i want a set.... imo using RTV inbetween the flap and the body would seal the set up from moisture and provide a pliable surface for teh flap to ride on instead of paint

yea its a spring and strut. if i lower the car any more, it would be hard keeping it a daily. the city i live in needs alot of road work not to mention speed bumps and drive ways are steep as hell

thanks man! i already rolled the fenders... but i wanna get them pulled though. u know i never noticed the positve camber in the front till u mentioned it... i just went outside and ..yup  theres +++++ camber, but only on the right front. left front is slightly negative. i know i need tie-rod bushings, does anyone know if that would affect the camber?

I have yet to understand why destroying your car is cool these days.....

not sure if tie rod bushings would affect that, but throw on a master bushing set! you should probably take it in for alignment soon. You don't want those new tires getting messed up

you car looks good man.
don't jump on the bandwagon and try slamming the car, you'll just f*** it up like 75% of the other guys trying to be jdm by slamming the crap out of it..

i've always been on the fence about mudflaps.
nice choice painting them black though, color matched ones look odd to me.
