Hey guys, this is my first post. Glad to be apart of the Nico community.

I purchased my 89 240 hatch last month and plan on getting an SR for it within a couple of months. First I wanted to go the front clip route but figured it would save me some money just buying a motor set since I'm adding a front mount and electric fans. I've been searching around and I stumbled upon one of this forums advertisers, JDM Racing Motors. They've got a motorset real cheap and says it comes with everything you need for the swap. I was just wondering if anyone has dealt with these guys and if so, what are your thoughts about them? Thanks for any input.

Welcome To Nico!

You could check out Jarco Inc. or Jhot Imports, they are both located in GA... so shipping would be cheaper

With everyone else, Welcome to nico... All those places mentioned are great..... I have heard of a few ppl from nico buying motors from them, and they werent too bad so....But 1800 for a red top, you can get a SR from jhot (right now they actually have two S13 black tops on ebay) and enjuku for 2200 less so i guess it would be worth the extra 2-400 bucks to get something from a place with a good rep...good luck!

I went with Japan Motor Imports. I got the engine in a week installed it in my backyard in less than a week and was driving around. The engine was clean and performs without flaw.

Thanks for the input guys. I think I'll go with Enjuku. They have a good rep so I know I'll be getting a top notch engine. I agree with you 27RB240, I'll pay a little extra to buy from a known good source. Last thing I want is to drop 2k on a motorset and it be junk.

and thanks for the warm welcome

Don't always go with the lowest price - sometimes with these engines swaps, you definatly get what you pay for. Find out exactly what you need and exactly what you're going to get for the price you pay. Another reputable place I'd say to check out is http://www.srwap.com. But Enjuku has had a long running relationship with NICO, I've heard they are nothing but good service.
