I always wondered what the extra buttons on the right did?

I don't know either...maybe it is an ejection seat button.

I just emailed this seller last night about getting some JDM parts for our Q's but he has not responded since he has a couple other JDM Q parts I think he might be a good source for us to get the goods that we see on yahoo jap auctions. I asked him about those turn signal mirrors as he had the folding mirrors which are okay, but I can't think of a use for them. Maybe if somebody else asks him what he can get from Japan then he might respond to our emails.

AZ94Q....do you know how they got the tail lights blacked out on this 91 bimmer. My car is black and if I could find a way to smoke fog the tail lights like they did I think it would really look good with my car.

something about "hella smoked projector headlights and smoked tail lights". Is this a kit that you can buy and do it yourself or do you have to buy them especially made like this?

BTW....my rear tire size that I want 275/40/18 are the same that are on the Corvette and there are a couple of good deals on ebay for them both new & used. it looks like I will not have to worry about tearing up tires to much and cost big $$ when I can pick up a couple of extra sets off of ebay cheap.

RSI,

I have the hookup for yahoo jp auctions. I am in the process of ordering some, actually. Perhaps we could work out a deal with the guy, and save shipping.

Quote »do you know how they got the tail lights blacked out on this 91 bimmer[/quote] It is spray window tint or Testers hobby paint, very easy to do, just take your time and prep the surface, I preffer the hobby paint as it lays down a smoother coat than the spray window tint.http://www.hobbylinc.com/htm/tes/tes2949.htm, Im not sure what button does it but when it is pressed the driver will recieve a burst of cold air for about 30 seconds for a lil freshn up, I also think the passenger side had the same option, the earlier USDM G20s had the feature but never worked correctly, also could be heated seat controls.

Process of elimination would say that those must be the buttons that directs the airflow, but I'm just guessing. I wonder if it’s compatible with American Qs. It looks different.

We have a guy who works in a vinyl shop that supplies us with transparent smoked vinyl. Less messy than the model paint trick & easily removed.

It's available in different shades & cheap.

okay heavy....send me an email with info and how much $$ and can a weekend warrior guy like myself do it?

I like the idea that you can remove it. I think that it will look good against my black car having the bright red & orange dimmed

A lot of Hot Rodders, use a thinned paint, to cover clear lenses, so you cannot see the tail lights, at all. I think it might be water based, even.

I ahve never been able to do it, without running, and you will ahve to sand the lenses, first, making it REALLY hard to fix it back, later.

I think the smoked vinyl is a GREAT way to do it.

That will really make the little chrome strip stand out, like the strip in the front & rear bumpers!

In the case of that BMW - Hella actually makes whole tail light assemblies that are "smoked." The plastic is actually tinted itself. If you go to their website, you'll also see they do different color tails for VWs and whatnot.

A product that people have used with success for smoking your tails yourself is called "VHT Niteshades" I think. I believe you can get it at Summit Racing or Jeg's.

I like the vinyl idea as well....

Replacing a botched rear light panel would be mucho expensive.

Like I always do, I'll post this pic, as it's what I'd like the arse end of my Q to look like :D.

Let me know if you accomplish this and HOW.
