Japanese cars are right hand drive, like in England. Road signs and nearest curb are to the left. Some headlights are designed to shine light to light up the road signs on the side of the road. I don't know how these JDM lights are since no one has bothered to post the most important picture - light pattern against a wall.
Left hand drive European code lights usually put out light like this: __/ __/
Space above the line is not lit (sharp cut-off) and below is. The slant is not as steep, more like 20 degrees or so.
If these JDM lights does anything like this (but flipped horizontally because of RHD) then you'd be shining bright HID light right into the eyes of on-coming traffic on American roads. If the lights look like this __ __ when shining on a wall, then they'll be fine.
