For the Archive:

I couldn't find any feedback for the company, but I decided to order a CA18DET motorset from Import Motorsports quite some time ago. According to the salesperson on the line two engines were "in the back". Three full weeks after payment I was informed that the engine they had for me was damaged, and that I would get a full refund. Roughly one and a half weeks later I recieved my money.

Review: Sketchy support/service, and hard to get a hold of (aside from taking orders and recieving payment). Since I never got my hands on the engine I can't say anything else, except that they appear to be legit since I got my money back instead of a crappy engine. They basically seem lazy or overloaded.

If anyone is thinking of ordering a swap from jdm.net/import motorsports take the above into consideration while you are making your choice.

Better they told you it was damaged upfront instead of sending it to you "as-is."

I don't know but I think this is a positive review for the company.

They told you it was "in the back." -- It appears as though it was. They told you it was "damaged" -- It appears as though it was. They told you they'd refund your money -- It appears as though it was.

Good information!

^ That was my intent. The most frustrating part was the four wasted weeks, but it is better than a crap engine. BTW they also told me they would ship it out within two days of payment. After that I got a hold of them two more times. Each time they said "next week". Just don't expect anything out of them quickly.

why didnt they just get you another motor instead of refunding you? its good to get some feedback about a company before buying something from them, like a motor

Apparently there weren't any more available. I looked everywhere for feedback and couldn't find any at all. Someone's gotta be first.
