My cousin is opening a used car dealership in SoCal. I will be handling the import division. I'm wondering what JDM cars serious buyers would be interested in picking up? We are going to be getting R33 Skylines for sure and possibly R34 and R32's but for off-road/track use only. I'm leaning towards S15's, FC's, FD's, and AE86's. Any other suggestions? Also if you are interested in one of these cars send me a PM.

Importing an FC would be useless. They're already pretty much $500 in the US, why would anyone pay a premium for a car like that?

Civic Type R's would get all the Honda fanbois going. That's what you should be really looking at if you're doing it for the money.

Haha. I love this forum. You might tell your cousin to wait until the economy bounces back. People are not buying to many cars right now. And you would be coming out of pocket on all of the stock due to the credit still being frozen. Banks will not back up a car dealership when all the big names including toyota and honda are closing dealerships. Love the McDonalds plug. haha

Skip on the FD's and FC's. The biggest reason is that the USDM model's of both are exactly the same. The JDM FD, and FC is right hand drive, same side as the turbo assembly making them a huge pain to work on. The only difference in the jdm FD is one less cat. You can pick up mostly stock FD's in the US for around 12-15k. I don't think there would be much money to be made on an imported FD after transportation cost.

On a positive note I would love to build an s15 for the track.
