jdm gauge w/sr20det

need some help here..i have a 89 240sx w/ s13 sr20 and i'm trying to get my rpm and speedo to work.i just bought a jdm cluster and everything works except the speedo and rpm but one funny thing last nite after about 10-15mins of drivng the speedo started working..but this morning started the car both speedo and rpm didn't work. then 10 mins of driving the speedo just start working. does anyone have this problem or know what's the deal is with the cluster? any help and input would be greatly appreciated.-steven

sounds like a possibly loose connector or something... very odd

have the same problem also, best bet is to check/clean ecu with electrical cleaner and see if that works.

thanks for the feedbacks guys ...i got both the tach and speedo to work. what happen was that the speedo wire was breaking off where the ecu is..so it was loose, that's why it cause it to come on sometimes. As for the tach don't know what happen but it's not connected somehow to the motor itself..so i had to run a wire directly to the tach wire on the engine from the firewall harness and bam it came alive..so there was a broken circuit somewhere.
