jdm gauge

I am currently looking for a jdm gauge cluster. i have read the install and done the homework...piece of cake right?. What i cant find is any info on the speed warning chime. I understand it is attached to the back of the cluster, but by not hooking it up will it stilll function correctly? i wonder this due to having to probably calibrate the speedo gauge. any thoughts,pics or other concerns i am missing? thanks.
