96' Blacktop SR20DET in S14.

have weird sound coming from engine,after starting the noise is at maximum for couple of seconds thn it disappears,after the engine warms up noise comes up again.also the malfunction light is not going off.

what OBD my car is ? and how to do self diagnostic on the ECU,i have read in the FSM but i cant find find any info on where to start and how to ?

help me guyz,would appreciate.
