I have come to the conclusion that JB Weld isnt as great as it makes itself out to be. After removing the AIV and pluging it with a plug sent with my header for the EGR, i thought things would be fine. But on my way to a friends house, the plug popped out and fell in the road. At 4:30 am, we found it and i had it back in the next morning. but, i looked at it a few days later and the thing had loosened itself again. so i tightened it and thought nothing of it. but on my way home from my GFs house, it came out yet again. so the next morning i went out there with my dad and we found it. when we got home, i mixed up some JB Weld and slapped it on there. when i put it in, i tightened it and made sure it was on there good. But today i was on my way home from my GFs house and it came out. i was thinking "WTF?!?! ITS FREAKIN JB WELD!!!!" so thats where i am now. JB Weld doesnt hold it in, and seems to have burned off. so i really ahve no idea what im going to do as this is my only car and i dont want to stick the AIV back in. im thinking that because the plug is brass, its expanding different than the header, and this is what makes it come out. im open to any suggestions, but i already know that i might have to weld it in. BAH, this sucks!

dude, are you not giving it long enough to harden? if that's the case it'll do that ****, the quick stuff is pretty crappy from my experience, but JB weld isn't a permanent fix anyway:(

try duct tape!

i just found out why its not working. JB weld is rated only to 500*F. the header is a LOT hotter than that. oh well, guess its time to weld it.

Or just use a small drill bit and drill through the side of it. Then install it and use some safety wire to secure it to the manifold. This would make it easier for you to remove it if necessary.

If you're talking about where the AIV tube comes out of the header you can cut the threaded part off of the tube then stick two nickles in the hole in the header and tighten just the threaded part back in and it will plug it up nicely. That is what two of my friends and I have done with no problems at all.
