_ I finally got my s14 donor motor in and running and picked up my treadstone egay manifold! just few more goodies to get...

-I hit one big snag probly my own fault-

I hacked off a 5/8 steel bung off some coolant piping and had a guy a work braze it onto the pan with a coat hanger. He said it was pointless to weld it so thin... ehh i fig. he knew his marbles maybe not. Anyways it looked great i watched him do it looked easy same a soldering!!! Now i seeps thorugh the weld super super slow like 1/10 of a quart a day. I brake cleand and put rtv on it to slow down not fix obviously.

I did some research HMT honda tech nico kinda take here there.....anyways theres TONS and TONS of people running around with brass bung jb weld on no problems or LEAKS. Bunch of people with seep welds so i guess the fix it to weld then come back and jb weld id say thats the BEST way besides -aftermarket replacement.

Lemme know what you guys think please legit claims not JB weld sucks cause its jb weld

idk, Im mixed on things like that. JB Weld doesnt suck, Ive used it to repair cracked leaking wheels when I worked at Big10 tires. Its just that when it comes to my oil system Im sketchy of repair methods since its the lifeline of my engine. Id prefer to have it tig'd all the way around, then fill it with water and see if leaks. water is heavier than oil and is thinner in viscosity so if its going to leak it will. if it doesnt leak then its ready to be installed and used. just my 2 cents tho

If you're going to try and repair it with it on the car.
Yeah I'd JB weld it for a temporary fix.

always scuff before bond! I dont care if it looks"clean" its not and you want it to be :yesnod

I will look but I think my old pan is still in the backyard, I will hit it with a hammer and see how hard I have to whack it.

I fixed 2 different oil pans while still on the car do to punctures. Just drain the oil, degrease it, a little scuffing, and goop it like no bodies business. Worked fine for me.

Clean the surface with alcohol prior to putting on the JB Weld. I've used JB on tons of things, from fuel tanks to pool liners. It's an awesome epoxy.

Just get it Mig welded like i did. The welder at work did it and it wasnt too hard..he finished in like 3 mins and welded BOTH sides. The bung is 1/8 inch. It doesn't leak at all and its strong as hell. It didn't break when i tightened the s*** out of the fitting on it. Just make sure the welder uses shielding gas and not the flux cored crap which splatters and makes a mess.

I meant to say the bung's wall thickness is 1/8, the inner size is 1/2NPT and im using it with a 10 AN hose
