Java Chat room at NICO

You know what I like to see, A Java Chat room here at Nico, where we can just use your present username and pass to gain access.

I think it'll be nice to have one so that we can all chat actively,

what do you guys think, Put your inputs down, maybe if each member is willing to send in .50 cent or $1.00 through paypalwe all can have a chat room, i'm pertty sure that's alot of money.Want a java chat room.?

The only problem is, if useful information comes up in chat, it isnt recorded so everyone can find and use it later. I have thought of this too but it defeats the purpose and utility of having the forums.

Anyinfo that is found useful by the person that used it will post it up and give proper credits where it's due.

I think it's a nice idea. I'm sure plenty of people will still post useful info on the boards.

Let's face it, a good portion of what's posted in General (and some of the other boards) is just chatter and **** with no value other than entertainment.

Perhaps, as one of the other folks mentioned, a chat room would filter out a bit of the "noise" we have on NICO.

Besides, many other message boards have forums AND a chat room. If anything, the chat room ends up being under utilized.

Create a channel on some IRC server, that's free. Then use a Java applet for people that are too lazy to download mIRC. Cheap, free, easy.
