I've been thinking about RB25 swap for some time now. I hear JARCO is the best in the buissiness. I'm wondering if anyone here has had any previous experience with them. Also do they include wiring harness? I see they list what the clip includes, but i see no wiring harness?

Thanks

Jarco is awesome, as far as a front clip, unless stated otherwise you'll get a ECU and harness, still in it's factory place usually. Basically your clip with be a R32/R33 Skyline front cut with everything that would come with a front 1/2 of a Skyline. Nothing to worry about.

Great, thats just what i wanted to hear...hopefully some more people will post their opinions also.

OFFTOPIC:I have a (stupid) question, but its been bothering me forever. Since the Skylines are RHD is the shift pattern the same as say.....a KA24? Or is it all reversed?

Thanks..

Yes the shift patterns are the same. No need to worry about that

I didnt buy a motor from them, but I bought a R33 k-frame and some Tein coilovers. I was very pleased with the outcome, good price and good condition.

I bought my R33 half-cut, k-member, brakes, etc from them. I also got the 2pc driveshaft & fuel pump. You pay a lil extra for it, but you are also guaranteed a mint piece when it gets there. I kinda got raped on shipping ($600 or $650) but that is because they deliver themselves and they had nothing going near me.. the week before they went to Louisville KY and that would have saved me about $200.. oh well. I also got a video of my clip running in Japon. Oh yeah, I also bought the Skyline floormats eventho I found out after purchase taht they would _not_ fit in my S13...

(dons flame suit)I'm actually debating on selling my entire setup and going LSx .. but that is still just theory.. half-cut is untouched, all I did was put water-proof tarps on it and seal it..

I would be amazed if you got the AC to work... from what I have seen, the JDM and USDM ecu's calculate AC differently and it won't work.. but I have yet to try it myself.

Topsecrt88 I love your car and have seen it plastered all over the 240 forum for a while now. Glad you're thinking about coming over to the dark side. I have read nothing but good things about Jarco, so I'd probably consider them if the price was right. What RB are you going to get?

If you want your A/C to work, you will have to do a lot of reading on here and Racebread.com. Then, bring it to a shop that does custom A/C installations and they can probably hook you up with a setup that will work. It's not impossible, just not compatible between the existing 240 and RB wiring.

Thanks for the comment Darius, hopefully the car will just get better as time goes on!

As for RB, im looking at getting an RB25, hopefully the Series 2 (the better on i think?). The price isn't bad at all...Only in $3500.00 range. I was going to send my harness' to Wiring Specialties to get them put together also. I've been lurking on Race Bread, and i'll look into the subject of keeping the AC.

Thanks

From what i've read, the problem with ac from a rb25 in a 240 is that in the 240 the ecu read the high pressure low pressure cut off switch on the compressor, but on the skyline it's different in some way. The main problem is that the compressor will eventually blow up from not having a high pressure cut off. It seems like if you were to have a shop put a custom high pressure/low pressure cut off valve or something it might work. If I were you I would talk to Jon Powell about it from Race Bread. He is a very knowledgable guy. I would also have him do the wiring job. 250 for a s13 and he does both upper and lower harnesses. From what I've heard he does an amazing job as well.
