My friend will be getting a CA18DET from Jarco soon. I'd like to help him get it ready to drop in. What should we definitely check? I think Jarco has good engines, but I'm sure its always good to go over it. We're both noobs in terms of engine stuff, all I really know about is suspension. I searched for general rebuild stuff, but couldn't find anything about Jarco in particular. Thanks!

No matter what, change everything that you can afford. Change all vacuum and coolant lines NO MATTER WHAT. It will save you a HUGE headache later on. Trust me. I have busrt every old coolant line on the motor now. Also check the clutch. If you can afford to, change the water pump and belts as well. New plugs is a duh as well.

Well check the turbo as said. And you prob gonna wind up replacing one or more of the coilpacks on the CA. Oh and def change up the coolant lines. My life has been hell for the past couple of weeks dealing with them! If you got any probs or need any help hit me up. We got a shop in Dallas Ga.

Jarco has a really good reputation both in the Nissan world, and the Toyota world, for getting really clean, really complete, clips and motorsets. They also have running videos of all the motors they sell in the cars before dismantling If I ever have to buy a complete motor again, I'd throw down the extra $$$ to get their products.

Cool, sounds like we'll just need to replace coolant lines and vacuum lines unless something else happens to be messed up. I'm kinda excited to help him swap it in, I haven't done any swaps and I just totalled my car, so I miss workin on S chassis. Thanks for all the replies.
