Hi folks, I caught an hour of Japanese GT300/500 recap of the 2002 review on Speed yesterday, and I was wondering:

-if there are any English sites that detail the specs of the Japanese GT300 Silvias, for those who don't know a word in Japanese?

-why some Supras and Skylines are running 4 cylinder engines?

-why the Viper, with all its glory of 10 pistons, run in the GT300 class?

I'm still in the process of learning more about import cars... so I'm not exactly tuned into all these "general" things that you all know off the bat.

:) Thanks~

in my limited knowledge of the racing series i can tell you that they run 4 cylinders for the weight advantages? Or is it cc restrictions? I always thought it was just for the weight dispersement? LOGAN

Yes, they run 4 cylinder engines for weight savings reasons. Also, the drivers sit further back in the cabin to move the weight towards the center of the car.

I don't know of any english sites that provide information about the cars but, JGTC.net does have the basic information about all the cars. The site also has pages that explain the rules of the JGTC.
