Hey guys... going to be in LA to cover the Japanese Classic show in Long Beach on 10/06/07. Anyone from the local NICO groups planning on heading out? I'll be there splitting my time between the magazines booth and covering the show/out wandering checking out the rides. I know I'm looking for at least 2 feature cars to shoot while I'm there. If anyones got something feature worthy pop me an email or IM or come see me at the show and bring your car!

So who all is going? I'd love to meet some of my NICO breathern (or sistern... wait.. thats not a word) while I'm out there.

Justin

Hey Teddy. I don't rememer if you told me if you had registered or not, but if you didn't, I wouldn't bring the 510 and park it in general parking where you can't see it. Some guys might think it's "Pick a Part" if you know what I mean. My friend 2 years ago had his mirrors and grill stolen from there.

Wow... so ummm I guess whilist in the LBC I should bring my toughest gangsta scowl. Jeez. I hadn't heard anything about this sort of thing in the past but this is my first year out there. Too bad they wouldn't let us rope off a NICO only parking area

Wonder if anyone will steal my rental... hehe.

Can't wait to see you guys. I'll be the goofy white kid w/ the sideburns. Either wandering about peering from behind my camera or sitting in our booth. Be sure to stop by and show me your parking lot... errr finds haha.

The event is probably the biggest and best OLD SCHOOL IMPORTS gathering in the world. Where else will you see 300+ old school Datsuns, Toyotas, Mazdas, etc...I've showed my car since the beginning.

The location at the Queen Mary is beautiful and very safe. However, the way the event and parking is set up makes it difficult to keep an eye on your car if you're not actually in the event. Public parking isn't too close.

Many of the attendees have projects at home that are missing a few items, so what better place to find these rare and hard to find parts. This is just a heads up to my little high schooler Teddy.

I posted a thread about this a month ago: zerothread/272259

And yes, people do steal stuff off cars, I had one of my chuki fender pieces stolen off my car last year and I was literally 20 feet from the show entrance. If I can, I will be going to this show in a different car. But overall its one of the best car shows.

I know registration for the show has been filled up for over a month now.

We can just walk on right? For spectators?? Whats this registration stuff I'm hearing? Is that just for the cars entering in the show?

Yeah.. $5 admission $3-10 for parking. Not bad IMHO. Hell lots of crappier shows charge 3-4X the price for alot less cool stuff.

My sentra will get the wrong attention because it's modified. So as Teddy said, I'll most likley drive my dad's Maxima.

You guys are blowing this thing out of proportion. I gave TeddyBear the heads up about taking his 510 and parking it out in general parking. Remember guys, this is an "old school" car show, and some spectators have "old school" projects that may be needing a few parts.

FYI, a 510 grill, bumpers, mirrors, moldings, etc..can be removed in a matter of seconds. I just didn't want his car to be used as a "pick a part" if you know what I mean..

I wouldn't hesitate to drive any of my cars out there. However, I wouldn't park my 510 out there in general parking. Do you guys get it now...

If anything, you guys should set up a NiCO meet out there and show your rides..

I guess its all good because I'm not sure to even have my car by Saturday because its at my buddy's house.

Anyway, thanks a bunch for the words of knowledge, Ray.

You know, my dad told me that I could also go park it at the Queen Mary's parking lot.....

That's where general parking is. All spectators will have to park their cars there.
