I looked at the sticky about where you got your engine but i still didn't find what i wanted.

I want to buy a rb from japan because i think it would be better since our country ships alot of things directly from there. So i wanted to know if there are any sites based in japan that sells engines. because so far i have only found one and they don't have what i want.

So can anyone help me?

Almost all the engines that find there way to North America from Japan are imported by North American companies due to customs issues and shipping costs.

1.) It's much easier and safer for an American company to get a container of engines through customs than it is for a japanese company to do this. 2.) It's much less expensive to pay for the shipping of one 20' or 40' container than it is for one engine on a pallet. So American and Canadian companies buy large quantities of engines and ship them all together to save money.

In short, find an American company that has what you're looking for and a good reputation. There are plenty of them around now.

Plus, if something goes wrong with the company you choose over in Japan and they decide to take your money and screw you, you have no jurisdiction over there. Good luck getting your money back.

im currently looking into doing the same swap on my 240. from what my research shows it is smarter to buy the front clip of a skyline gts. i am personally going with the r33. they seem to typically run between2500 and 3000 dollars. its best to do this because u get most of the quirky parts that you will need and a good reference. osakajdmmotors.com seems to have pretty good deals. just google front clips and u will find tons of sites. im sure u could probably find one for sale cheap here too.

I would strongly advise you NOT to make a purchase based on prices you've found on google.

I can say that I've heard bad things about osaka and a couple other Montreal based companies.

Check out JHOT.. a NICO sponsor with a very good reputation and outstanding prices. zerothread/226774

Another place that I recommend is JapaneseStarMotors out of Albany, NY. They have great prices and offer free shipping. In fact they have a RB25det M/T motorset for $2000 (shipped) at the moment on their website.. http://www.japanesestarmotor.c...ID=46

If you are looking for outstanding service and helpful owner.. Check with Luis at DragDriftAutox out of Washington State. I bought my engine from him and I was and continue to be very impressed. http://www.dragdriftautox.com

Read the sticky threads again and make a wise choice based on good research.. Nothing bothers me more than hearing about some poor guy buying a junk engine or getting ripped off completely.

Try getting some kind of legal satisfaction from some Caribbean country if something goes south with the deal.

Well if he wanted to he could go there and ship it.But there are reputable places there. There's lots of rally racing in Jamaica, don't know about the other countries though.

Why would i import from Jamaica or any other carribean country when the Bahamas has one of the largest container ports in the world. We also have good relations with Japan which is why most of our cars are right had Japanese cars. I bought my 180sx directly from Japan for a steal of a deal with no problems. This is why i wanted to find a website based in Japan to order an engine from because it would be easy for me to get it here.

Also we have a company here that sells tons of japanese engines but i think that they charge to much.

So with that do you still think i should order from a US or Canada site? Or do you know a Japan based web site that i can order an engine from.

I know about Jamaica, I have no idea about the Bahamas.

How much do they want for a RBXX there??

It's gonna be a PITA to get it, plus to ship 1 pallet with a motor on it. HAHAHThere not gonna do that.

Everything is shipped by container. If you are willing to purchase a container full then you'll get a good price other than that.

Call Canada, US or right in your own backyard (probably the cheapest).

Yeah I'd think you could find something cheaper, I personally know of no good exporters in JPN, I'd be surprised if there were more then one shipping to the Bahamas. Heck if RHD cars are legal go out searchin for some wrecked or whatnot skyline GTS-T's. Hey I bet PantherRacer know's all the good deals in Nassau... lol
