Jeremy Clarkson has hilarious one-liners but comes across as a hyperbole-flinging idiot.

Richard Hammond knows how to emphasize the spirit of an automobile, which explains his rightful disdain for a lot of German cars [excluding Porsche].

An honorable mention goes to Jason Dawe, who left after season two to pursue other work in print media.

James May is a gentleman who can appreciate a sports car without turning into a jumpy toddler. He also owns and maintains an old Bentley, which is downright classy. Therefore, he's my favorite Top Gear presenter.

I like jeremy because he's an oversteer junkie but his likeness to robin leechputs him out of the front running.

I selected james because he's a class act and always has some good historyon whatever he's driving...even though he's driving it like my grandma :op

for teh win.

I wanted to add Vicki, Tiff, and the other guys/girls from Fifth Gear, but that show comparatively sucks. I did enjoy the recent episode where Vicki drove an M5 at 165mph with a blindfold.

Richard's bleached teeth do it for me.

Okay, seriously though, Richard seems to have a better grasp of overstatement/humor and actual journalism than Jeremy does most of the time.

They're all awesome though.

Hammond, cause I like his style and his commentary is greatI like Clarkson, cause I like his taste in burly, mean-*** sports cars, although some of the comments he makes about the Japanese cars is annoying. The VQ is not Renault-designed and the 350z should get more respect since its Nissan's flagship sports car making a comeback (end rant). I appreciate his bluntness though.I like James May's classiness, but he's a bit boring IMO. So I voted for Hammond, he's more my style, he's like a balance between the other two. Plus he's cute and probably around my height

well clarkson is a clown which makes for a good laugh, may is witty, and hammond is just man pretty. however, split them up, clarkson is the only one that's entertaining. but bring them together, and you have the 3 stooges with some of the most expensive cars on earth

Cool. Drag out a 10+ year old thread, just when the new Top Gear show aired it's first episode.
I just read on line that the ratings were below expectations, and it was critically panned.
Fans pretty much universally hated it, including not liking the new host, Chris Evans.
I haven't seen it yet.
I'd rather wait for the new show on Amazon with the 3 musketeers instead.
Speaking of which, I hadn't heard about Top Gear until I was on a flight to Australia in 2009.
I was sitting next to a young lady who was watching something on the screen in front of her, with her head set on. She couldn't stop laughing.
I asked her what was so funny, and she told me she was watching Top Gear.
Ok then, I thought to myself. 13 hours on a plane and I'm bored silly, so I'll check it out.
Turns out the Top Gear episode they had on the flight was the Vietnam Special (where they bought 3 cheap motorcycles).
I've been hooked ever since. (That is still my favourite episode by the way. I've watched it a dozen times.)
When I got back home, I added the BBC channel to my TV subscription, and have seen every episode since.
I have no favourite presenter either. The magic comes from the way the three of them interact. You can't fake that stuff either.
It works or it doesn't. In their case, it works brilliantly.
Cheers everyone.
