I disagree with him on likely anything you could name but I do respect his skills and critical mind but dam man! I can't think of a complimentary conservative commentator that approaches his level of ugly. He reminds me of the cryptkeeper or gollum.

I can't put my finger on it but Susan Estrich does it for me.

Who is everyone's fav political axeperson?

Surprisingly enough, I agree with that observation! I was on a plane with him one time coming back from Mexico ... I'll have to write about that later. I am too sleepy right now.

This is a funny thread.

I really like Carville though, he always seems to be very emotionally invested in what he does and very honest about his own viewpoints.

I personally think the guys is lower than a snake. I remember him from the Clinton days and how nasty he could be politicially. We always use to scratch our heads wondering how he could be married to Mary Matalin.

I like what I've seen of Carville's personality. He's always cool in his movie cameo's. What I also find interesting is the fact that he and his wife have polar opposite political views... yet have a very successful marriage.

I don't agree with his political views. I've never met the guy in person... so my opinions are purely based on media portrayal of him.

I listened to a radio niterview with him a couple weeks ago... he's a pretty sharp cookie.

He's also no fan of Obama, which they've done a good job of keeping 'under wraps'.

Carville is ugly, but I think Rove is the ugliest guy in politics.

Yeah, but Rove isn't unique. Carville has his own style.

His wife called him "Serpent Head", you can't get much better than that - and from someone who knows him pretty intimately. *shudder* That just brought up an image I'd rather forget.

He's a smart guy, a good orator and from the excerpts I've read from a book, a pretty decent writer. And while I don't completely trust him (or most any other person that is willingly involved in politics) I get the feeling from him that he believes he's doing what is in the best interest of the masses.

And I dig that he's not on board the O-Train.

Rove reminds me of John Cusack as the fictitious Michael Merriman in "Fat Man & Little Boy" after he runs his hand through some critical mass. Only Rove is bloated a little more and has less hair.

Yeah, Rove is just a wannabe Lee Atwater.

Anyone notice that Rove has become considerably more likable since he quit being a campaign strategist and started being a columnist and commentator?

I find myself actually AGREEING with the man from time to time now, which just disgusts me, lol.

I think most of the political commentators have moments of likability. I must say Ann Coulter needs a kick in the snatch though.

If someone begins to agree with me, I become less disgusted with them. Bob Barr supported the Patriot Act and war on drugs, and has since changed his mind. Now I'm actually voting for the guy.

I don't mind if people disagree with me. If they can step outside their beliefs and try to hear mine with an open mind I am happy to talk with them and treat them the same. Some of my best discussions on divergent subjects have been with people I did not agree with but they were so thoughtful and eloquent it was great to talk to them. I remember a Jehovahs witness that use to come around the hood would always swing by to BS with me on the porch. I enjoyed the discussion as well even though we both knew we would not change the other's position. He would bring the new guys around to my house for a little reality check. I asked why he was setting his guys up like that. He said to show them that there are people who might not agree but still respect your beliefs and that they need to learn to do the same, the hard sell was not the way to go.
