You can now obtain a 98 XJR for around 25,000 with 40-50k miles on it. These vehicles are depreciating fast, and will continue to do so. My friend owns a 99 black XJR, beautiful machine. They are capable of upper 13s@103 or so. I raced his in my stock 96 supra tt, it was close until 80 or so, where I pulled all the way to 159 (speed governor). Anyway these cars are great, highly recommended. They have 370 supercharged v8 horses, beautiful interrior, with gorgeous wood, and leather everywhere. The suspension is tuned for more comfort then all out performance. However the traction control cuts in early (like the qs) and does a good job of controlling the power. Anyone else have any experiences with this jag?

Jusr remember the average life of EATON axial superchargers is around 80-100k between rebuilds.........the rotors get pitted and the bearings and shaft may need replacing........think they used an Eaton 90 ..........but the rebuild is only around $1,000.....need a spare on hand just in case.

"Successful completion of numerous 500 hour durability tests established a firm grasp on achieving a reliable product. In addition, numerous vehicles have successfully completed 100,000 mile, OEM (original equipment manufacturer), vehicle durability tests. "

"...Jusr remember the average life of EATON axial superchargers is around 80-100k between rebuilds..."No wonder when I tested drive a '95 XJR w/105K last year it was really slow, much slower than my '97Q. I thought it was like that. Now I know it's the supercharger.

I love the XJR, a friend has a beautiful convertable XJR and the reliablity has been good. But the width of the car makes it virtually unbearable for me. The top of the door just intrudes too far and hit's me square in the sholders. Not to metion the way the drivers footwell crams your feet to one side.

I really wanted to pick one up, I just don't find it nearly as comfortable as the Q.

Sure are fun to drive though.

Geez, Denis is right again. 80K in my experience.
