Why would you even risk hurting anything? Get a hoist.

If you have the transmission attached, jack it up by the bell housing.

If you're willing to do some more work, you can drop the engine down on 2 jacks by the engine crossmember.

If you just want to lift the engine, the oil pan is fine

Unless you'll be doing a LOT of engine work, engine stand or hoist is not worth buying.

oil pan isnt a good idea. bell housings and crank pulley is a bad idea. just use the crossmember. notice that the service manual says to lift there

I have no intentions in jacking it up from the crank pulley i was just curious, my guess was you may get lucky but it could certainly bend something.. Also the oil pan is definitely a bad idea but it is possible but just overall you either get lucky or you bend it.

I have jacked it up from where the transmission meets the block alot which seems like the best place when changing engine mounts or oil pan gasket..

I just started this thread to see what others opinions were on this (my own opinion is DONT DO IT lol)
