I did this to my 240 a few days ago. I took 12 washers 6 on the right and 6 on the left and stacked them in between my hood and the hood hinges. This lifted the rear of my hood about ½ inch. It does run cooler and at night I can feel a difference because my air filter get a colder air charge. After I get my hood straight and perfect I will post a pic.

I used washers from discount auto 5/16" 7.9mm I stacked two to each bolt total 4 per side. I also put sticky tape on each washer so the hood would not rattle. At first I had 12 total but I could not get the hood to line up so now im using 10.

I feel you there!I went and got some today.Temps went from a cruising freeway temp of 205° down to a cruising temp of 190°. Nissan really didn't make these engine bays to flow air at all.

Is it blatantly obvious? This sounds like my kind of free (well cheap enough) modification Just as long as my girlfriend wont go ewwwwww, why'd you screw up your hood like that? Do you have a picture you could post or e-mail me?

I don't really understand why you would go to the trouble of bending your hood like that. I understand that it will increase the air flow, but why are you over heating? Maybe you should look in to that problem.
