i've had my j for a little over 3 years now, when i bought it i got it with a bad transmission, so i got it replaced then, the transmission had about 60k miles on it, i did a flush before installing, and used the the proper fluid from nissan, but something wierd started happening lately..., when i start to drive after stopping at a light for example, i feel that there is a little delay before the car responds, and once it does, it slightly jerks, that happens about once every 3 or 4 stops, and i noticed it the most when i have more people in the car, i'm trying to diagnose the problem, the engine runs smooth throughout the event, the tranmission doesnt slip nor makes any noise when driving, i would appreciate your feedback on this......

Do you properly warm up the car at initial start-up before driving regardless of weather? The transmission runs proper only when fully warmed up.

If the revs climb and the car has delayed shifting it's likely a rev sensor, otherwise it can be anything from the solenoids going bad to the transmission coming to the end of its life.

i have the car parked in an underground parking all year round, and i always wait at least a couple of minutes before driving, i would estimate that i start and go once every 30 starts or so "sometimes in a hurry" about the car response, when the mensioned above happens, the engine revs and then the transmission would respond..... so how would i find out if the rev sensor is going "technically", and any idea about how much does it cost..... since i installed the transmission, all gears would shift smoothly except from third to fourth, it is rough, the closest thing i can compare it to is that it feels like going on a slight bump on the road..... it didnt increase nor decrease with time, i dunno if this helps in diagnosing the problem or if it is another problem by itself........ and does anyone have a rough shifting between 3rd and 4th gear?

I had the same issue when I had the fluid level low. So when the engine revs up the fluid gets into the transmission and it engages. That was creating that delayed effect and was happening just like you described. When I added more fluid it went away. Of cause the same symptom can have different causes but this is what I had. Have you checked the fluid level after this started happening?
