J30t has problems turning over.

My J30t has problems turning over. sometimes it will start up and after idleing for a few minutes it shuts off. i try to start it up and it justtrys to turn over, then when i give it gas it sounds like it wants to turn over but sometimes it will and sometime s it wont. I just bought a new battery for it.Could it be timing?

did you get this sorted , have similer story , almera 03 only 45 thou on clock, Im told its timing chain stretched , or poss VVF timing fault , not sure who to believ as runs well.
