hey i have been doing as much research as possible and i might have skipped over a topic like this.

i have a 91 240sx and im lookin to put a j30 lsd into it, how hard will it be to do it? has anyone done it yet? prices or anybody that has any of them? i just need some help or direction, anything is appreciated, thanks.

I believe the only thing you will have to do is change the rear cover.

and possibly get an auto drive shaft its like 1/2 inch shorter iirc, because the j30 diff is longer because of the abs ring on the input shaft.

I heard this also but it is not true because i have a j30 in mine right now and my drive shaft is stock . All i had to do is swap the rear covers and put some washers on the front bolts so it would hold the diff cuz the s13 bolts are smaller than the j30 holes.

Yeah install is pretty much strait forward...just get some washers and longer bolts...You might need to tie up the ABS lines that came with the J30 just so it wont interfere with the spinning drive shaft when you drive...but other than replacing the j30 rear cover with your open diff one, all you have to really do is bolt it up and drive.

as far as the driveshaft problem goes, you should be fine..there's enough room down there to compensate.
