Hey guys, I finished installing my XM satellite radio receiver in the J30. Sounds awesome. Mounted the antenna on the dash and reception is great.

Since the initial install, I had to remove the FM Modulator because the FM tuner in my Bose head unit is a POS and the music was at times distorted (some frequencies only). It still does this when I listen to some radion stations. CDs and cassette sound great so I opted to go with the cassette adapter after all. The cassette adapter wire is hidden behind the wood trim.

Thanks for the good comments guys.

The Delphi Skyfi unit works great and the best thing is that it's portable. The unit pops out of that cradle and you can use the same unit in the house (same subscription) as long as you buy the additional "home kit". The home kit includes an additional cradle/base, ac adapter, rca cable, and a hi-gain antenna.

For the car, they make an FM modulator if you don't want to use the cassette adapter but in my car, the sound was not as clean as I had hoped with the modulator. I think it's the bose/clarion tuner since my fm station sound as bad as the xm did when i tried the modulator. If you use the modulator, you'll need a couple adapters to connect the modulator to the nissan/infiniti 2-prong fm antenna (diversity antenna).

It's a great addition to any car. It's like a never-ending CD changer.

That looks really good. I am still considering XM for my car and I have gotten some really graet ideas from others that have it installed, mostly of where to mount the antenna, since I don't want any kind of antenna on the outside of my car. That is the first pics of the Delphi unit I have seen installed too. Looks great!
