J30 weight, compared to 300zx ???

i was looking to find the weight of both the 300zx and the J, and found that to be the same, is that even conceivable ?? i know that the Z is a heavy car, but is it as heavy as the J ?

I would think the J would weigh a bit more personally, I'm interested to see what the verdict is...

from researching online, i found a lot of websites mensioning the curb weight of the J to be 1600Kg, (curb weight is the weight of the car with a full tank of gas, oils, but not passangers nor any extra weight), and the curb weight of the 300zx was found to be 3532lb, which is equivalent to 1600Kg, and if converted to Kg, it would actually come up to 1602Kg, which i found very strange, if anyone knows about this issue, i need a confirmation on it......

No the Z has a curb weight of 3200ish pounds, and the J is right around 3500-3600

Well, if you dig around far enough on Edmunds, they put the 96 ZX at 3287, and the 97 J at 3527.They say 3401 for the 2+2 ZX, and 3502 for the Turbo. If you're lucky, published weight values might be within 100 pounds of reality.I don't know if the ZX has the aluminum panels the J does. Pity they had to remove them all for the Canadian versions and replace them with aluminium. They also had to remove the pounds, apparently, and substitute "kilograms", whatever those are.
