As far as N/A engines and other than the oil pans what is the different from a J30 VG30DE and A 300ZX VG30DE. I ask because I can get a J30 VG30DE for $200.

they r totally different engine dude...u might have missed something about them... maxima j30 uses VG30E single overhead cam from 1989 to 1994 160hp and VE30DE dual overhead cam 200hp only in 1992-1994 v6 and 300zx uses VG30DE.... u cant fit VG30DE in maxima

I think he means the Infiniti J30 not the Maxima.

blocks and heads should be the same, oil pan, pickyp, and dipsticlk all likely need to be changed

Depending on the year of the 300zx the Injector connectors are different. For all 300zx and j30's the differences are balance tube, iaiv piping, oil pan, oil pick up tube, dipstick location, and exhaust manifolds, and if I remember correctly so are the engine mounts. Internally they are the same motor.

Dude, you're an idiot. the vg30de hass 222 BHP, not 200. And yes, the vg30de is on the J30. what the hell is a maxima J30 anyways? thats like saying i have a altama g37. The engines are the same as far as the block, heads, plenum, internals, timing, clutch, valve covers.

Agreed. If you get it, anything you need externally can be used to bolt on from your old motor to make it work. depending on the years, dictates what injectors you can use. and keep the lower inatke mani/plenum with the same motor if you can because there are two style heads.

He was actually talking about the VE30DE available in the 92-94 Maxima SE. They didn't make 200 though, they were rated at 190.

J30 is the chassis code of the 89-94 Maxima so its just like saying you have a Z32 300ZX. The J30 chassis code very commonly gets confused with the Infiniti J30, as you can tell.
