j30 vlsd

has anyone ever used a 95 j30 6-bolt vlsd in a s13 without using the ABS drive shaft and uses the non-abs shaft and not have a problem

They have, other have had to swap to an ABS shaft. I dont know why it binds with some people and not others.

But just an FYI a driveshaft shop in your local area can shorten the shaft and replace U-joints for as much as it cost to buy a used ABS one.

I took a look at both, the only difference is like .25-.50 of an inch longer with ABS. I you look at drive shaft flanges. Some are dished, like ones with out the sensor in front. And one with sensor is more flat (or less dished). I think both are doable, but haven't personally experienced with both.

threadjack, how much lower are the rpms in your car out on the highway after the j3o0 swap?

well i got mine 6bolt and cut the abs wire i guess. but i also used my s13 axles and it worked perfect. like it but not love it. l0l

Edit: i also didnt use there driveshaft used my s13s too.

Or just take your drive shaft to your local custom driveshaft place and say hey make this 20mm shorter and get the U joints replaced too. Should be cheaper and since your replacing U Joints that thing will be better then any used piece.
