I got a j30 vlsd and axels about a month ago and havent installed them yet. i am planning on installing them in a week or 2. ups damaged the output shafts on the diff. alittle but i was able to fix it. my question is, should i be able to turn the diff by hand either by the driveshaft output or the axel outputs, it wont budge and im wondering if its screwed up

Yeah, it should turn by hand, but it should also take some work. It's not like you can move it with one finger or anything.

should be able to rotate it by either method. Turn the driveshaft or turning the axle... it should turn without too much trouble.
