I have one. It does its job but could be better. I am used to full lockers though so for many it may be perfect. For a factory unit at the cost you can get them for they are a good choice if your on a budget. I swapped the guts on mine to keep the factory gear ratio and solid mounts in the s13. In the end its much better than the open diff.

I just finished installing mine today. I put a 95 J30 diff into my 98 240SX. It bolted right in with no problems. Very straightforward install for me, but I'm not sure about your setup.

Anyway, driving is much better than stock. It takes about a second to lock up, but it does lock so you can put down power to both wheels. I got the car sideways, but that's easy to do. The gearing doesn't bother me, actually I hope it help with my gas mileage. I'm running 750cc injectors, so I burn gas like crazy.

I picked it up for $150 and so far it's the most bang for the buck upgrade I've done. I'm looking to do helical later, but the J30 is good for now.

I have had mine for a month. over all it is great for the money( $100). If you have the power to over come the gearing you will love it. higher top speed, better gas mileage, and plug and play. I haven't gone turbo yet so it is a bit slower on the take off but you feel the diff through corners and in how much more smooth it makes the ride. When I do turbo the car it will be great because it keeps the rpm higher through the same speed so you get to and stay in boost more. which I will need for the big laggy turbo I bought.
